Dialogues Across Time — Conversations Between Cello and Piano

Renowned Taiwanese cellist Shih-Lin Chen—former member of the Borealis String Quartet, with over 600 performances worldwide during his six years with the ensemble, acclaimed by critics for performances of passion, vitality, and refined musical elegance, and frequently broadcast across Canada on CBC Radio—joins longtime chamber music collaborator and Cornell Music Department faculty member Vera H. P. Hsu. Together, they present a program of masterworks featuring Bach’s cello suite and cello sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms. Their many years of musical partnership promise a performance of rare intensity, depth, and brilliance.

享譽國際的臺灣大提琴家陳世霖，曾為 Borealis 弦樂四重奏成員，六年間隨團於全球巡演逾六百場，演出以激情、活力與細膩優雅著稱，並多次於加拿大 CBC 廣播電台播出。今年甫獲紐約愛樂前音樂總監 Jaap van Zweden 聘任為台灣長榮交響樂團大提琴首席。此次，他將與長年室內樂合作夥伴、康乃爾大學音樂系許惠品教授攜手同台。

本場音樂會將呈獻巴赫大提琴無伴奏組曲，以及貝多芬與布拉姆斯的大提琴奏鳴曲。透過跨越世紀、理性與激情交織的作品，以及兩位音樂家多年淬鍊而成的音樂默契，將帶來一場兼具張力與深度的精彩演出。
